I just got the car. I used to have a '91 LX 5.0. Now I have an '88 GT convertible. I was driving down the road and the car shut off while I was turning into a gas station. Went to start is again and sounded like the battery was about dead. Pulled the jumper cables out and it started right up when hooked to another car no problem. Drove the car home. Was out driving again (bout 6 hours later, and drove for about 20-30mins), stopped to get gas and put air in the tires. Got gas. Started right up, no problem. Put air in it at the pump, started up for 2 seconds, stalled out. Started again, gave it some gas, then stalled out again. Now it turns over (no problems turning over) just wont start. Spark plugs are new, plug wires are new, cap/rotor is new, battery is new. Everything on the motor is stock. Alternator doesn't seem to be the issue being that it only died while driving once, right? I know the original alternators are crap. I did the 3G on my last 5.0.
