EAA OPENS VEHICLE REGISTRATION FOR ‘PLANES, MANES AND AUTOMOBILES’ EVENT COMING IN JULY

EAA AVIATION CENTER, OSHKOSH, Wis. - (April 13, 2005) - Advance vehicle registration has opened for EAA’s “Planes, Manes & Automobiles,” one of the Midwest’s most imaginative transportation shows, which features beautifully maintained aircraft and motor vehicles. The show will be held Saturday, July 2, on the EAA Aviation Center grounds in Oshkosh.
The event, presented by EAA and the Midwest Mustang Association, was created to celebrate two legendary “Mustangs” in transportation history - The North American P-51 “Mustang” fighter plane from the World War II era and the Ford Mustang motor car. The show also includes other Ford vehicles from throughout the Ford Motor Company’s more than 100-year history.

Auto entrants will be eligible for judging in one of 20 separate categories, plus have an opportunity to have their vehicle be photographed with one of EAA’s classic P-51 fighter planes or an F-86 jet from the 1950s. There are also lunch and driving cruise options available to participants.

Complete registration details are available through the EAA AirVenture Museum web site at www.airventuremuseum.org/mustangs. Event registration is $20, which includes museum admission for all vehicle occupants. Free souvenir dash plaques will be available for all vehicles pre-registered by June 15, 2005.

This event is also supported by Action Printers and Rainbow Screen Printing Inc.

The EAA AirVenture Museum is located just off Highway 41 at the Highway 44 exit in Oshkosh. The Museum is open Monday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. EAA members receive free museum admission year-round and family memberships are available. For more information, call the EAA AirVenture Museum at (920) 426-6108 or visit www.airventuremuseum.org.

i worked at teh EAA airshow in July in 2000 and 2001 when i was a cadet in CAP. it was cool, but the EAA guys were pricks. the best part was getting to walk around after i got my beret, other than that it was a working vacation.
