You get a few hp from it. Maybe 2 or 3. The best part about K&N's is you don't need to replace them. You just have to clean them every 10,000 miles or so.
REmove the air silencer, there are mixed feelings about it, but it can 't hurt IMO
Also, if I were you, I'd go get a recharge kit (they have them at autozone) and I'd clean the K&N just as a precaution. But they do flow better than a paper filter, and never call for replacing
IMO, you'd also like a nice Steeda Tri-Ax or Pro 5.0 shifter, just feel better
