How many miles is a K&N filter good for before it has to be cleaned and re-oiled? Thanks

I believe k&n just states it should be cleaned whenever it looks dirty, but to check it around 30k miles. If it's dusty where you are, then it probably needs to be cleaned out more often.

i'd say clean it if it you look at it and can't tell it's red.

I'd say clean it if it is not red and/or there is some debris in it (dead bugs, leaves, etc).

I usually do mine durring the first tune up to get ready for spring, and again durring the mid summer tune up.... durring the winter it doesnt see any miles.

I dont think it matters k&n didnt do anything for my stang.....I cleaned it after a while still couldnt tell the damn difference....

A normal air filter should be checked and most likely changed about every 9000 miles, so check your K&N the same way.
