You must have some air in the system. Send me your email address and I will send you a pdf of the new bleeding procedures that I just received from KB.

You probably have an air lock because the system was not properly primed. Just loose the hose coming off the pump and let it drain for a few seconds. Then refill the intercooler reservoir. That will alow the air pockect to move out. I know brotha'...priming the IC system is a PITA.

I had the same problem with mine after a couple of days of sitting around the pump was no longer primed. I found out I had a very small leak at the plug on top of the union for the hose that runs from the heat exchanger to the intercooler. After snugging the plug up the intercooler pump now stays primed. Any more questions just feel free to ask.

Mine did the same thing on and off for several months. It is a PITA to get it primed right because of the trapped air. That pump makes a wicked noise when it's running dry. Stop immediately when it happens.

You can get some instant relief if you're on the road by cracking the res plug a bit and letting the air escape. Keep the allen wrench in the car all the time.

If the system isn't pressurized, you can also get some instant relief by cracking the upper IC radiator hose and pissing fluid out a bit. Keep a racket and socket in the car for that. Whatever you do, keep that res full AND Teflon Tape that plug to keep air out.

I haven't had any problems with mine staying primed. I think I just got lucky. I would recommend checking it frequently though. After hearing about all of your problems, I'm not going to trust mine to stay primed. I have that supplement as well, so if anyone still needs its, let me know.

14PSI KB on GT built bottom end no heads...

I also had difficulty getting the pump primed. I agree PITA...
Since then I eliminated the small water holding tank and replaced it with a Vortech water holding tank. (already had battery in trunk. Had Vortec w/cooler prior).

I then moved the pump under the heat exchanger. (Pump should be at lowest point).

No priming required.. First turn of the key water came poured out in the holding tank. Gallons of water rather than the small amount in the original tank (BTW- kind of ugly looking blank tank for the GT...)

Can't help but feel the issue is the location of the pump. Inside the wheel well above heat exchange.

Never had any issues when I had the Vortec/cooler. Pump was in a similar location.

I am considering a larger heat exchange unit.

Well, it seems like my KB IC pump is starting to give problems. The pump has been on and off for the past two months. The only remedy that seems to work for me is letting the hose from the IC res to the pump piss a bit. After doing that, the pump will just start circulating the fluid again. But after a few days, it will stop working!! This is driving me nuts I see that some of you have had the same problem. What was your solution? By the way, could someone e-mail me the KB write-up on the new priming procedure at el_kid_1@yahoo.com? Thanks.
