What's the difference between the Keene Bell supercharger and the Whipple supercharger? Are they the only two twin screw superchargers for the Mustang?

Does Whipple only make them for 4v?

Never heard of a seperate company called "Whipple." Kenne Bell blowers are commonly referred to as whipple chargers, so perhaps you are confused there.
As far as roots type blowers, Kenne Bell and Saleen are the only things that come to mind for the 4.6. Perhaps there is another.. not sure if Roush makes their own.

Kenne Bells are basically the same as the Whipple blowers. Different case designs, few minor things.

Kenne Bell does not make a roots blower. They make a twin screw which is a positive displacement, but not 'roots'. Saleen and Roush use the same blowers but they are not made by either Saleen OR Roush, they are Eaton M90's.

If i remember correctly, whipple was the first to make the positive displacement twin screw. But alot of people use kenne bell and you dont hear much about whipple. im sure there is a reason for that. But firsthand, i dont know, i have never had a supercharger but i plan on getting a kenne bell within the next year or two

Whipple and Kenne Bell are twin screw. These blowers are manufactured by seperate companies.

Opcon\Autorotor = KB
Lysholm = Whipple Industries.

Recently Opcon purchased Lysholm.

KB doesn't make a roots blower, the only manufacturers of these blowers are Eaton = OEM.

Magnuson = Distributer and re-manufacturer of Eaton blowers to the aftermarket. They supply Roush and Saleen with there roots blowers.

Both are extremely nice blowers. my friend has a whipple on his 01 silverado and my other friend has a kb on an 03 cobra. The only difference is that the kb is a lot louder than the whipple. if you don't know the boy with the silverado then you wouldn't ever know that he has a blower.

Tom is right. Whipple is a seperate company and sale twin screws. They are soon to be releasing a 03 Cobra replacement and maybe a 2v. That according to the latest 5.0 mag. I hope it comes to be.

I talked to the guys at Whipple last week. They weren't planning a 2v kit, this is because they supply Saleen with their twin screws.

Well that sucks. I think they are missing some good opportunity to give KB some competition and give us at least one other option. wish I had the money to invest.

I believe that the whipple comes with the s-281e and I think you need forged internals for it to be installed in a 2v.

The 2.3 does - they are using the 1.6 on the new kits.

Whipple blower would definitely add competition...Do these whipples come intercooled or do they rely on the reseller to design an intercooler system to the supercharger?

For the 03 Cobra it bolts onto the stock intake.
