I was rompin around playin with some of my new suspension today. I figured I'd do a simple launch and it seems I got an ever so slight miss at WOT when I get around 4500 rpms. Stock tach so who knows where I really was it only did it twice and I didn't wanna push it anymore than that. I was just curious though if it would be possible for a header gasket leak to cause that. I know I got one but I never thought of it to be of a serious issue. Its just more a nuisance hearing it but I'm tryin to hold off until I get a set of headers then fix the leak. I know there are many other factors I have to look at too like the plugs, distributor, fuel system etc... I searched for the problem not long ago on here and someone did mention a header gasket leak could be the cause of it in a similar situation I just wanted a few more opinions.

It would have to be one, major, massive header gasket leak to cause a misfire. It would have to be such a bad leak, that enough exhaust gas was escaping to prevent that bank's O2 sensor from getting a close to accurate reading. A leak at the header flange would be annoying, but it would probably need to be unbearable before you had a misfire result from it.

If I were you, I'd look elsewhere.

A header leak may sound like a miss, but it isn't going to hurt you, being small.

It will sound like a miss, but it will not be a miss.

Probably ignition related...
