I have a 02 gt automatic, lately I have been hearing a knocking noise it sounds like its coming from underneath the drivers side center console. It only happens when I start the car up and put it in reverse as soon as I go from reverse to drive it knocks. If I continue to drive the car around I can go from reverse to drive all day and it won't make the noise until I shut the car off and let it set for a while. Then when I started it up again and put it in drive it will knock. (weird huh) Now this only happens half the time, but lately I can feel the knock from underneath the driver side floor board; near the gas pedal. I did jack the car up and crawled underneath to see if anything was loose ie struts, driveshaft, and I can't find where its coming from. I already taken the car into ford ( a 3 hour drive) and they could not get it to duplicate; go figure. My question is has anybody had this problem or does anybody have any suggestions on what I can do next? Thanks for any help
