Sorry if I come off noobish, I'll be the first to admit I'm very green at the whole manual transmission in a sports car thing and being that this is my first Stang I humbly accept any advice.

I'm thinking that maybe it's just me being inexperienced in driving the car (and driving a 5 speed Sports Car) but I'm finding certain areas of my Stang to be pretty sluggish or even dead.

I've yet to "race" it or in fact really get on it since it's still only 6 days old. In fact, I've not even launched it off the line yet, just some nice acceleration off of a roll in 1st gear, 2nd gear starts, some 3rd gear highway stuff but nothing major.

So, what are some of the sweet spots in the 5 speed? Any tips would be appreciated

Well the first thing many notice is the throttle lag. This car uses a "drive-by-wire" system that eliminates the throttle cable you are probably used to. Just by purchasing a tune from one of the vendors, the lag is eliminated. Also, if you are finding that certain gears are "laggin", you are probably in the wrong gear; drop it down a gear next time and see how that feels.

Gotcha. Thanks for the advice.

Lemme see whatcha think of my current plans (short term). Open to suggestions

1. Exhaust (see post I made regarding choices)
2. Intake (C&L? Steeda?) & Tune (DiabloSport for sure)
3. UDP (Steeda?)

I know the guys @ DiabloSport really well, friends with a few of them. I know they've got good tunes there. In fact I may be dropping the car off for a day to have it tuned by their guys @ the Delray facility.

I've already got 3.55's so I'm not really sure where to go from there. I'm sure once I've had the car for a few years I'd venture into the world of Power Adders but for now I'd be content w/ a mid-low 13's car.

Have you considered a Brenspeed or Bamachips tune? You should check out their websites and do a search on here

Free Tune > $$$ Tune

I don't like blabbing since it hasn't happened yet but I spoke with one of the head tuners @ DS today about using my car as a test vehicle for their 08 Predator. He wanted me to drop the car off Monday but they don't have a loaner available that day so we'll see.

I guess it's nice to have both DiabloSport and Steeda within a 30 minute drive from my office.
