Hi guys,

I'm still trying to find a good option for replacement front seats for my '68. After listening to the answers on my last post, it seems like my best bet would be to go with some fox-body seats. 94-99 would be alright also, but I'm having more luck finding fox-body ones.

I like the look of most of the '87-'93 seats and was wondering if anyone had pictures of those specific seats in the car.

My worries are that the seats will sit too high. I called a mustang-specific salvage yard about this today, and when I mentioned that I was trying to put them in a '68 he immediately told me that he thought they would be way too high. Is this the case? Did you have to modify the seats or seat-risers at all?

What about re-upholstering them? I figure that I will use them as-is for a while as they are comfortable, but they just don't fit the look of the car. What have you guys done as far as re-covering them? Vinyl or leather? Did you have to change out the foam, or just the upholstery? How much should it run me... $300?

Thanks!

I used '86 seats with the "halo" headrests on mine. Got them from craigslist for $40. All I did was drill two new holes on the stock seat sliders to match up with the seats. The height is the same as the stock seat, plus the headrest.

I have have 89 High Back GT seats in my 68 they are a little high but I really like them. They work well with the 68's because the vertical stitching matches the old interior, Seats were 80 bucks off craigslist and 240 dollars to recover them in black vinyl.
