25th, I'm a freak for abandoned buildings. What is the one you are in front of in the last picture? Anything good or just an apartment? Byberry used to be my favorite. A huge abandoned mental asylum with tons of buildings and tunnels connecting them all.

It was a shame to watch it get progressivly more and more trashed by vandals and firebugs. The morgue was pristine the first time I went.

I'm actually REALLY into that stuff too. I've been to Skillman down in central Jersey before, which can be a creepy place.

The photos were actually taken at a place called Undercliff in Meriden CT. Look it up theres a lot of good info out there for it. It was a hospital for children, and of course you know how those storys go.

There are a handful of abandoned places in my area with good stories and I would LOVE to snag photos of the car at them. Need to buy my photographer a LOT of beer though .

A lot of skillman got taken down. There's a pretty cool abandoned stone mansion up on top of zion mountain about 5 mins from there. The icing on the cake is that one of the outbuildings is overflowing with prosthetic limbs. I'm not sure, but I heard Mary's Tower near flemington got taken down too. Seems like anything Wierd NJ writes about gets demo'd. You might be able to get some decent shots at Kings Park Psyciatric Center. You can't get super close to the buildings tho. All the big buildings are fenced off. However, the grounds are a public park so you are actually allowed there.
Pennhurst would be a good one. Many people drive in there and don't get caught. Lots of good decaying buildings too.

If you were making a trip, I'd make friends with some of the people here and get a tour guide.
Now I'm off to check out Undercliff.

Awesome, I like the Wierd NJ stuff and spent a lot of time looking at their site. It sucks that Im 2+ hours from most of it. CT isnt bad either for the amount of stuff, but alot of it is gone or made up...

This should be a new thread, derailment is already in progress. Me and my buddies used to try to hit abandoned areas in NJ. The coolest place i've been to was the Lakeland Mental Asylum. There was another place in Blue Anchor that I went to once with a bunch of shacks and stuff across from a hospital, can't remember what it was called though. I've also been to Purgatory Rd. but it wasn't that special

90coupe, I'm sure there's a lot of stuff in the pines. I'm just not very familiar with it. I know there's a good abandoned asylum in North Jersey, but I forget the name/location. I'll look into it. A lot of the stuff I'm talking about wouldn't be good to take a mustang into. Security WILL hear you rumbling through and be out to talk to you. Depending on how good you are talking to them will decide whether you get arrested or not. Check out that opacity.us - Abandoned Photography and Urban Exploration site and it's forums for a lot of cool stuff. I'm trying to find some good industrial sites in philly. I found an abandoned power plant but I think that'll be a foot trip. You, 25th, and I should track something good down and go on a field trip. King's Park would be a good one, but my wife can be a bit of a pain in the ass when she knows I'm going to deliberatly break the law.
If you're looking for something to go check out, Google Earth can be your friend. I found Roebling Steel that way, but I haven't found a good way to get in and there's not much left. Bethlehem Steel would be kickass, but a LOT of people get arrested there. Their security is on their a game ever since they started building a casino there.
I think Marlboro state hospital is near you 90coupe, but I've heard security is a bitch there too. Here's some pics..

I'd be too afraid to drive my car down into Detroit to take pics by abandon buildings. I might get down there, but I might not be driving it back out.
