Which one? #1 is the shortest but not that short (not sure on exact measurment) But what's up with that variable resitance on #4? I'm not enough of a sparky to understand how a wire can do that. Given the ohm ratings I've seen on "performance" wires I'm thinking they are all higher than should be.

I'd start with #4 and go from there. Test em all if you like, but the varience can't be a good thing.

When I did the cam swap on the Mav, I had similar problems. Turned out to be intermittant arcing at the coil connections. I think ignition is probably your problem. I used the Ford Motorsports 9mm wires and they worked very nice.

Can you get 8 or 9mm looms that will clip onto a stock valve cover?

I think you can. I can't remember. I believe Ford sells blue looms for their wires, but it has been a while.

I like the Ford wires because they perform well, are a nice color blue, and they are pre-measured for Ford small blocks, which is nice. They are also pretty reasonable, price wise.
