Since the recent time change I have discovered the strong need to update the lighting in my 2-car garage. Currently, I only have one small light bulb near the garage door opener. This is not sufficient for working on projects.
I am considering putting in 4 sets of LED lights but wanted to ask if anyone has recommendations or cheap alternatives. I am already stretched pretty thin from buying two project cars, so a cheap option may be the way to go. I have electrical experience and know how to do the wiring and installation.
The ceiling is too low for drop lighting, so ceiling flush mount would be preferred. Does anyone have recommendations?

If you have a Rural King store nearby, they have LED lights in 4-ft lengths that are very inexpensive. The single-row lights are pretty bright, the double-row lights are very bright! They may lose a few LED'S now and then, but they're cheap enough you can just replace them if needed. There are probably similar lights on Amazon or at other hardware stores, too. Just hang them up and plug them in.

I stuck 3 two footers in my garage to get it inspected knowing I would change them once I got moved in, I was amazed at how much light those put out, the ceiling/wall corner is a good idea.

I found 4 footers@ Sam's Club and one of the benefits of led is they daisychain up to 10 from one outlet

Yeah, the led lights hardly draw any power at all.
HA! Now they even have LED lights with bluetooth speakers! (No clue how good they sound or how long they last...)

T5HO fixtures are fairly cheap and put out a lot of light. 5000 lumens per bulb. They are quickly becoming obsolete though as LED fixture pricing drops and lumens increases. They still surpass a lot of the cheaper LED fixtures however.

I have 5 of the dual-bulb T5HO fixtures in my garage and it's like daylight in there. I've identified a few areas where I could use additional lighting so I may try an LED fixture or two this time. Each t5HO fixture with 2 bulbs draws just under an AMP. I'd like to reduce that current draw over 6-7 fixtures

I know the application is different but the technology is the same. I recently had a halogen floor lamp burn out and decided it was just simply time to replace it with LEDs for energy and heat reduction. I bought two from Amazon for $70 a piece. They are very bright, (individually) almost as bright as the halogen. They put off almost no heat. They can be controlled by an app on your phone via bluetooth. So I can turn them on without even being in the same room. I've seen some linkable LEDs for ceiling application that are only 1/2" thick and infrared remote operated.

Thank you for your reply. I truly appreciate it.
A friend of mine in Tulsa has a small shop he restores minis in.
He purchased some budget minded led shop lights and declared they were plenty bright for his needs.
Since he is a dear friend of mine, I sent him, as a gift, a Big Ass Solutions or also known as Big Ass Fans LED 15kw shop light.
He said it makes his budget lights look dim. I am at the point in my life where I prefer quality over quantity.

I recently installed a four tube 48" LED fixture in the ceiling at the head of the garage between my two cars and the brightness is great. Originally there were two 2 tube 48"fluorescent fixtures in the ceiling in the middle of the 20' x 23' garage and they can't compare to the light output of the new fixture. The electrician said there were no LED bulbs to replace the fluorescent tubes in the old fixtures and the fixtures would need replacement. I'll do this down the road.
