You mean the adapter kit? It's the same as a PI intake - just comes with all the hardware and adapter plates they make. Most people just seal it with high temp RTV over adapter plates.

right, no RTV. It sits higher though - might not clear the strut tower brace if you have it me thinks.

zeevann:

I have the Livernois kit. It contains a milled intake so it sits no higher with the adapter plates installed than the stocker. It is not cheap but it is a nice kit and well engineered. RTV will work but it is not as elegant (imho) as the adapter plates. It's up to the NPI owner to choose.

just bought the kit and had a question

i just bought the livernoise kit and had a question. the kit comes with one set of gaskets. my understanding is the new included gaskets go on the side of the head and then the spacer go on top of the new gaskets. question: is a gasket required for the adaptors to the intake manifold?

I installed mine with the old faithful RED RTV, but only around the coolant ports. No leaks!! Also don't forget to change your water pump nipple & water pump to heater core hoses with one from a 99-04 model. Does the livernois intake have the boss drilled & tapped for the temp sensor in the cross over? Should have two locations on the cross over.

The adapter plates adapt the different port shapes. If you just get a pi intake and bolt it on the ports wont line up and it hurts flow. I would use gaskets on both sides of the adapter plates.

i bought this kit for my car, and the install was decent. you do need the other set of gaskets. i dont remember which ones they provide though. either way you will need one set of pi and one set of npi. make sure you install the new crossover tube and nipple. should all be included in kit. your strut tower brace will still work without any mods. it fit perfect on my car with no issues. just take your time and torque bolts in sequence and to proper torque. and yes it has the other hole drilled in it already. very well thought out kit for people wanting to do the job the "right" way.

Thanks 99 scstang

Thanks 99scstang..a couple of questions.

1) Did use RTV or teflon tape for the N=2 coolant sensors on the crossover? I don't see any instructions to use RTV anywhere in the kit (that is a good thing).

2) Are you using the PI kit with your blower with no install issues?

3) Did you have a noticeable change in performance?

i installed the livernois pi intake and the install was pretty straightforward. it took me about 12 hrs total to remove and install. the performance is phenomenal. i definitely notice a hp gain that is like switching to a better cam at 2500rpm and higher. i'd estimate 15 hp plus gain and nothing like changing a intake filter for 3 hp.

now is it worth to change to the PI cams? i have a 98 mustang.

For sure, the intake compliments the cams. The car wont plateau so much like it does stock up top in the rpm's.

use teflon tape on the sensors and use rtv silicon when you put new nipple in back of water pump. i had no problems with my blower set up. i put everything on my car at one time so i am not sure what the gains with just the intake and cams were but i know they helped flow alot. the stock npi intake and cams are pretty lame. i found a set of new pi cams(never installed) on ebay for 50 dollars. cant beat that. just take your time on the install and everything will be fine.
