Does anyone with a vert and longtubes know if the factory convertable brace underneath the k frame has to be removed to install the headers? thanks

I really hope not. I ordered longtubes and a catted H for my 03 vert friday and just looked under the car yesterday and saw all the braces and stuff. Doesn't look good...

It can be done, just prepare to spend lots of $$$. Problem is with stock K member it's so tight there. There are 2 ways to do that either raise the engine or drop the K member. Either way you looking at 5-8 hr job, depending on your mechanic. I was quoted $500 just for install.

I had my engine swapped with less than 1,000 miles by ford under warranty and I had the mechanic put my mac lt's on the new engine while he was doing it, they charged me 6 hrs for the install, ( when I had my exhaust changed afterwards we could see where the ford mechanic had try to put the engine in the car with the lt's on and it dinged up the undercarriage a little bit.) I remember them saying they had to do a little grinding, although I didn't notice anything while it was on the lift later.
