Quick question - Way back when I was working at the Jiffy Lube in this area we had a very built 306-powered blown Mustang come in for tranny fluid, and I seem to remember there being a problem with his Long-Tube headers getting in the way of the fill or maybe the drain plug. Does anyone have this problem?

Also, are LTs emissions legal or should I save my stock ones when I get them?

They may or may not be legal in your area, be best to check.

MAC long tubes didn't get ine the way of either the drain or fill plug...

That's cool. I'm not too worried about emissions but I still want to be aware of what's up. I'm glad to hear the MACs don't block anything, I've forgotten what brand the headers where that blocked the plug (I seem to recall it being the fill plug). Thanks man.

I think the easiest way to put fluid in a T5 is just pour it through the top through the shifter. It's a little tasky if you've got a console, but i hate screwin with that fill hole underneath. If you pull off the top of your shifter you can pour the fluid through slowly, and you dont even have to get under the car (unless you still need to check the fluid level)

That fill hole is a PITA if the trans is in the car at all, unless you have the right tool. Most auto stores sell a pump kit that screws to the top of a oil/trans fluid bottle so you can pump it though a tube. I have BBK Longtubes 1 5/8ths into the 2.5" collector and had no problem with the tool.
