The first number is the year of the decade, the letter is the month (starting with "A" for January thru "M for December, they skipped the letter "I") last number or numbers is the day of the month it was made. The Decade it was made is determined by the first character of the casting number. The first letter is the decade starting with "C" for 1960 , "D" for 70's, "E" for 80's, "F" for 90's. The number next to it tells you what model year of the decade the part was first produced. The third letter is the vehicle line the engineering costs were assigned to. It does not tell you what vehicle it was originally installed in.
