1st i would like to say hello to everyone. And i look forward to learning some great knowledge from you guys, and any ladies if they are out there.

So here is a general idea of what i have, before i ask my question. i have a 92 gt with a couple of goodies. but for the most part its stock, complete stock suspension, stock tranny and a stock shortblock, the car has A/C and still has the smog pump hooked up. And the car has drag radial's.

My goal this summer is to break into the 7s in the 1/8th to be exact high 7.90s would be a dream . the quickest the car has ran is 8.13s and that's with launching at 4k. i don't want any nitrous and I'm definitely not going to chop the car up. its going to stay the way it is. i very much enjoy being able to say i can drive my car every day and run some good numbers. especially being able to pull up to some one hitting a lick, with my AC on full blast.

but anyway, what i was thinking about doing, is swapping out the cam. i thought it had a 303 cam in it, but i found out that was false. it actually has a 282. But would it be possible to go bigger in the cam, and keep all my stock emission and AC?

And yes i know the faster i go, the quicker those stock parts are going to break. when that time comes i will deal with it, but until then i take pride in the way my car is set up

Peronally I think just a cam swap is just a waste on a stock engine, I like to always go with the major 3 Heads/Cam/Intake to see the full benifet. Usually gain 75-100 hp and lose weight up front with aluminum heads. Imo thats your best bet to reach your goal.

On a bone stock 92, swapping the cam in the last thing I would do. so many other things should be changed out first.

Heads, intake, gears, pullies, electric fan, etc are all things I'd do before a cam swap. You want to pick a cam based on your combo.
