I can't compare to the straightshot, but I had the fenderwell MAC. I liked the way it looked and sounded, but it's a PITA to install the filter out in the fenderwell. Each time you want to clean the filter you have to take off the tire and pull down the wheel well.

I still don't believe these things provide any gains at all. I think it's a clever gimmick to have the look of forced induction that coaxes buyers into thinking they have netted gains in an overpriced transaction.

My suggestion - do it homemade, the right way, then judge for yourself. I think you won't be buying a CAI kit from MAC afterward.

Choice of CAI does make a difference with a power adder. With a KB 1.7 a MAC CAI cost me 60rwh over the KB provided CAI. Inlet vacuum is a HP killer for forced induction.

Interesting. When you got the KB Cool Air Kit, did you get the upgraded meter and throttle body? Seems like a huge difference just in changing an "air pipe". Both have the same amount of bends. I used the MAC for appearence purposes over the KB, then also upgraded the meter and TB.

Another guy who had his KB done at the same shop that did mine, went all KB. Cool Air Kit and chip, and made about 10 RWHP less than mine. I see most sigs in here with the 9lb kit make anywhere from 380 to as high as 435, putting mine right about average.

Do you have more details?

Great numbers by the way!
Your set up is my goal for this next year.
