They come with a textured black finish. Some people have had them painted. IMO, it looks better black.

It could easily be painted. Why you would want to....I'm not sure

You can paint them with flexable paint....but they chip or get scraped up very easily.

It gets expensive repainting them each time you hit some road debris. Something riding that low up front is bound to get something kicked up at it sooner or later.

If you do want a body-colored chin spoiler, you can sand off the textured surface and then paint it like you would any other body panel. But, as others have said, don't expect it to look show-car clean

Actually if you get it professionally done it will look clean. But IMO thats a waste of money since it looks better black. I just know because my boss had a bunch of stuff repainted on his 02 GT when someone drove into in our parking lot and he ordered a chin spoiler and had the shop use the extra paint on that. Its really clean but IMO it kinda makes the front fender look like an aftermarket body kit piece or something.

Also I could tell the body shop guy didnt know much about Mustangs and particularly the Mach 1 because he mounted it flush with the front of the bumper so the sides arnt flush with the edges of the bumper where the wheel wells are so it looks retarded lol.

Thats how I mounted mine also.

I'd rather have it sit flush up front...

I agree. Sorry when I said he got it painted I meant he got it painted to MATCH the color of the car, which was silver. You painted yours black and when they come stock they are black. Mine wasnt painted it just came that way new. So yes I agree it will look sharp haha.

Lol. Well if its not flush with the wheel wells its very obvious that something isnt lined up right. But if you mount it flush with the edges and set back a little in the front you cant really tell it isnt flush unless you get down and look under there. Even the old 70s era Machs had it come down a few inches from the edge of the front of the bumper but it was actually a molded piece of the bumper.

Im not trying to bash the way you have it done. Thats just my outlook on it. Lol. To each his own.

It's cool, not taken in a bashing way...

I debated doing it both ways, and then decided on mounting it flush with the lip of the bumper, even though the Mach's didn't come that way.
