I have the Mach 1000 system in my 03, I know people will say its overpriced (and I wont argue with you on that) but I'm not in need of the loudest overly bassed out system, I like the bragging rights of having the best stock sound system. But question on hand is, has anyone messed around with it?..swapped subs out? added more amp? Im curious of the possibilities.

Hoeyhimself, how loud is that mach 1000 system? How hard do those 10's hit?

It pounds, and its clear with no distortion. I dont really know a good way of putting it, it shakes my mirrors haha. Im pretty sure its not maxed out, I dont know alot about stereo systems (hence the reason I opted for a factory installed one) but I dont think its using all the amps power, I wish I knew a way to crank it up just to see. But I've had guys that have nearly broken the bank on their systems compliment mine saying its one of the best sounding systems theyve heard, not necessarly the most bassed out though.

Thanks man, If it hits enough to shake your mirrors then that's cool. The reason i asked you is because my dad is buying me a stang and it has the mach 1000 system in it. From what you wrote it sounds like a decent system.

I ripped my Mach 1000 system out and it is now sitting in my closet. It is by far the loudest stock stereo you can buy on any vehicle. I needed more trunk space so I built a custom system with 2 Kicker L7s. Not to mention my new system sounds better and is louder. But, the Mach 1000 system is excellent though.

I really wasnt all too concerned with having the loudest system on the block. To get a decent stereo system, your going to be spending alot of money any way you look at it. The Mach 1000 system was a $1,300 option, thats not including the 6disc changer because that comes with the Mach 460 which is a standard. I have people tell me time and time again what I could have gotten with that $1,300 instead of the Mach 1000, but on my monthly payments it would have probably only made a $2 differance. All and all I am very impressed to see a system like this from factory. When I went to look for a car in 03 i was actually looking at rangers and then I saw this slick mustang in the middle of the showroom with a trunk full of stereo and two weeks later it was mine. Not a bad 17th birthday present

How much of it did you rip out...are we talking every single componet or just the subs/amps in the trunk?

Everything!

Subs, amps, door speakers, rear deck speakers, door tweeters, 6 cd headunit. The only thing I left was the standard mach 460 rear shelf which includes the two amps under it. Only thing I left was the rear tweeters in the rear deck but they aren't hooked up in my current setup.
