During my procharger install I noticed the MAF screen was not there. I think the previous owner took it out. If so, does anyone know where I can buy one or do you have one I could buy? Did my 02GT have a screen?

well, im sure you can pick one up from the dealership, but as long as you have a good airfilter on there, the screen is kinda pointless. the filter will stop mostly everything from coming into your engine, especially big stuff, and the screen will not prevent any small particles from getting into the engine, so i think its actually kinda pointless

from what i heard, the screens purpose is to slightly unify the air flow into the maf. Obiviously its not to stop any particles or what not. I don't know if there is a diffence in reading with or without it in place.

The screen is there to even out the airflow so incoming air flows even throughout the entire intake tube, giving the maf sensor an accurate reading of the airflow.

I would just go get one from the dealer. I doubt it would be very expensive....then again it is Ford.

The dealer only sells it with a new mass air only. The reason why I need it is because:
1. The procharger tubing dont fit too perfectly together without it around the mass air. Might have a boost leak there.
2. I heard the intercooler makes alot of turbulant air comming at the mass air for a not-so-perfect reading.
3. Procharger instructions say it should be there.

Well if you are going to have to buy a new MAF, then you might as well upgrade to a 90mm that has a screen on it. I kept the screen with my KB because that was what was recommended because of the whole smoother airflow issue.
