Excuse the smoke. It ran a bit with no O2's in it moving it on and off the ramps, so until I drive it some and the comp adjust for them being back in its pig rich. Not to mention the tube going to the smog pump isnt connected at all, or blocked yet. I also need to get this thing to an exhaust shop, and have on of the tail pipe tweaked. It seem it doesnt quite clear my MM panhard rod kit and its pushing the pip outward. I knew this could be an issue, but overall Im happy.

Well considering I went from a stock exhaust with flowmaster mufflers to an o/r x and the 2 1/2" Violator system. The camera doesnt quite catch just how nasty it sounds. Install was easy. Heck the mufflers are polished. Who polishes mufflers? Theyre pretty though.. lol. I know you can buy this system completely polished too. Id recommend it. Im pleased with how it sounds. When I first fired it up it brought my wife out to see it. She loves nasty sounding cars. She gave it a thumbs up so thats about the best recommendation you could get.

Heres one more. This one makes it like its a pile from all the smoke but Im on the throttle so you get that sound.

I had a stock H and flows. Its quite a bit louder, but sitting in the car it didnt seem that loud. Behind it is a different story. Tomorrow Ill take it out, and let the O2's heat up, and get a good idea just how loud it is inside the car.

It doesnt sound like a dump truck. I took it out for a nice drive today. Rich condition is gone now that its had time to run with O2 sensors back in. Interior drone is nil at cruising speed in 5th. Its very quiet at highway speeds unless you stick your foot in it. It should change some over the next month or so as the mufflers burn in. It definately garners some attention from the sound. I had some kid run up beside me in a little econobox and grin the whole time he followed me across town.

Thats definatly MAC, thats exactly how my car sounded when I had my stock heads and intake on it. The car changed sounds completely when I put my GT-40's and explorer intake on my car.

I like the sound of both. Im a bit different than a lot though. Just because I think the Mac, Flow,Mag sound good doesnt mean I want to sound like everyone else. I ran Dynomax on my 87 just because no one else around here did. Its almost all Flowmaster with a select few ponying up for the Magnaflow. I picked the Pypes without even listening to one clip just to be different. Im glad I did. It doesnt sound like anything else around here. Its very raspy compared to other exhausts.

As for why the Pypes sound so different. Im not sure. I looked inside one of the mufflers and the design is spiral and nothing like a flowmaster which is the only other muffler I can remember looking inside of.

yah well i got gt40's and explorer intake as well.....
so i was wondering if it will just be tin rasp producer now.......modded engines take the x pipes rasp to the fullest

im thinking that a off road h pipe is better on a modded engine
and X pipe on unmodded

its still a toss up for pypes and mac ....i

ryche thanks for your efforts......appreciate your clip,,,,maybe a drive by or a farther postioing from the camera if or when you get some extra time that you actually feel like wasting

eh, I think they all perform the same as every other one, its all for sound preference. Me and my buddies all have x pipes on our cars with a MAC catback but they all sound different. My one buddy has a prochamber and is much quieter than anyone elses car.

These mufflers are really, really raspy... I was gonna toss them on my O/R X and long tubes, but I will just throw them in my sisters GT with a catted midpipe (X or H, not sure) and tailpipes.

This has to be the first time i've ever said this, but that sounds way too loud for my taste...you may as well run an open H/X pipe. I'll have to hear those driving down the road before i'd consider them.
