I've logged under 2k miles on my factory GT axle-backs and find that they are significantly louder than any other Ford factory exhaust I've heard before. They will backfire and gurgle during startup and they sound incredible in tunnels/under bridges. They drone quite a bit at 2000-2500 RPM in 5th gear.

Does anyone else like their stock mufflers or has everyone ditched them for aftermarket? I know for sure that I will not like anything louder than what I have. I'm noise sensitive and prefer a silent exhaust system, but I will keep my stock axle-backs since they appear to be well made.

My stockers were too quite. My Magnaflows were too quite by themselves, so I got an offroad x pipe and fixed the problem!

Poor man's Loudmouth....Stock mufflers removed and straight pipes welded in.
Sounds great to me! Cost $118.00 with tax.
