So this morning I was on my way to class and was going down the road [4 lanes, 2 each way] and the mustang was already warmed up [15 minutes in the driveway idling and 10 on the road] so I decided I wanted to see how fast this thing can actually go. I started at the top of a hill that went down to a straight-away for about 3 miles. I had the thing floored and just listened to it roar. It felt great. Then I notice the speedo started to go to about the 3 on my OD which reads 131,xxx. The RPMs suddenly bounced back to about 3k and my car slowed down.. Did I hit the rev limiter or are our cars governed? I don't have a chip or anything... I know I didn't break anything, just had a confused look on my face like...WTF was that?

Anyone know?

There isn't a governer on the Fox, but there is a factory rev limit set at 6250.

If you hit the rev limiter the engines not going to "bounce" back to 3000. When I hit my limiter it just studders a little. I'd check for loose iginition wires.

I don't know how fast I was going.. The speedo was between 6-7 o'clock, I have 4.10's without the speedo gear.. I'm guessing I could have traveled back in time... I knew that was elvis on the side of the road!!

i dont see no reason for it to jump back to 3000 if u hit the rev limiter.
