Not necessarily, because they could always turn it back to stock. You could easily make a Cobra R clone on the outside, but you cant find that engine anywhere.

Id say that is a pretty good reason not to cram a crapload of boost into the engine. Personally i dont know too much about turbo fabbing, but im sure it was a pretty custom job and i would expect that some cutting was involved somewhere, and would find it hard to believe that they would be able to return it to 100%stock so that would be no evidence of it ever being there. Its a great car though, no doubt.

Plus you could blow it up throwing too much boost at it then where are you going to find a replacement?

I'm probably wrong, but isn't it a slightly modified Lincoln Navigator engine?

You're way wrong. There is nothing slightly modified about that car.

Ford is set to produce the Cobra R in March 2000, from the Dearborn Assembly Plant in Detroit, Michigan. Housing a modified version of the 5.4-liter V8 from the Lincoln Navigator, and a plethora of aftermarket parts from various manufacturers, the Cobra R is aimed at competition on the strip, on the street, and at the track.

Guess you should be able to find those engines after all.

The engine is similar to the Navi, but at the same time different. Also, if you break something, you have to prove ownership to get the original parts (i.e.-intake manifold).

Ah so you can't get a Navigator engine unless you own a Navigator? Letting people buy whatever parts they want for any reason would probably make them a little bit more profit...although this did happen to me when I tried to buy a Camaro SS hood from Chevy, they pulled my VIN and saw I had a Z28, and said sorry you can't buy that unless you have a SS.

No, you can't get "R" parts unless you own an "R."

That's just Chevy being dumb. Not like the SS was a limited edition run of 500 cars

The 00R is a true limited edition.
