They certainly look like retreads don't they? I'm thinking they are, but I can't say with certainty as those were the tires on there when I bought it.

We drove down about 10 minutes or so. There's a road that leads to some quarry company that we took and went down about a mile. Then it was BBQ time.

FS = factory stuff, pretty much. not FRPP stuff. Catback is free, so is a k/n. race tires ok too. Get a rule book from SCCA before you assume anything.

ESP= backdate, update anything that was on your car in your model line. like 3.55 gears because the 03 cobra/mach 1 has them.

anything else and your looking at SM or CP.

Yeah we officially found the middle of nowhere.

Shame that my 3.55s put me in ESP, cause thats all I've got done to it. Although he sure managed to hussle that couch around pretty good out there today.

Sorry I missed out on the fun this weekend. I had 3 baseball games that I could not miss (playoffs). I gotta get out there. I'm sure TJ will give me hell for not making it.

Flash, your model line stoped with the 93 cobra, so if any stang pre-94 had 3.55's your good. BUT Nobodys going to care on a local level, so if i were you ESP is where i would run. 3.55 vs 3.27 might help a little but if your just starting out i dont think its going to matter to much for a while.

I would go ahead and start running in the class right away starting in JAN, even if your finishing down in the order you get points for the championship. ESP isnt heavyly contested in CFR so just showing up every month could get you in the top 2 or 3. I finished 2ed in points and only ran 2 events.

As long as you've still got your stang you're not a trader. You MIGHT be a traitor, but...

I'll be there Sunday with our 66 and my 93.

well guys, the stang has a damn doughnut (sp) on it...and damn it looks wrong! got a little gash right in the edge of the tire (rear) and it leaked out overnight.

on a side note, do you guys think a 285/40 would fit? i know i can fit a 275 (my quads are flipped, only problem i would see would be exhaust pipes). reason im asking is a friend has a brand new pair of BFGoodrich 285/40's and he only wants $150 for them. he has the same tires on his 95 and there fine, but i know the 95's have deeper wheel wells. otherwise, i gotta go rob the bank and buy a new pair.

also, what is used to measure tires? like, is a 275 tire 275mm's, or what? and i was told that the tire height is the percentage of the tread width (whereas a tire with a 40 sidewall would be 40% of the tread width?). im confused, help.

Yup, the 285 means it is 285 mm wide in section width, not tread width. Tread width is usually ~1/2 less than section width. The 40 means is is a 40% aspect ratio, so a 285-40 would have a 114 mm sidewall height. Keep in mind that these numbers are based on fitting to a specific rim width that may vary by manufacturer. If you run a narrower rim width your section width will be less and on a wider rim it would be more. I would say they used a 10 or 11 inch rim for a 285-40 tire.

I would not recommend a 285 width on a Fox body unless it was mini-tubbed. I think a 255 is about the biggest you can fit without major clearance problems.

alright, thanks alot for the info. just for $hits and giggles, I'm going to mount one of the 285's on a rim and stick it under a fender. probably wont fit, but if it does...that saves me alotta money.

otherwise, what are some good street tires? I've kinda decided against drag radials cause the car is driven so much...so any opinions would be helpful.

I just put some BFG G-Force KDWs on my convertible. Only driven the car once with them on but they seem to hook up and they are suppose to be good in the rain. Pretty good price too, I got them from tire rack for $135 a piece. The size was a 245/45/17, so if you plan on going bigger the 255s are $144 each and the 275s are $155 each.

Is the turkey rod run open on sunday also? I have to work all day saturday so I can't go on that day.

I've had the KDWs on my car for less than a year, and I'll be needing some new one's soon. I should be able to hit a year on them, though. That being said, I really like them. I plan on getting them again, too, even though I wish they lasted a tad longer. Oh well, I guess if I wanted inexpensive tires, I would have bought a Honduh.
