Welcome home Dan. Yes, Greenland is very icy and Iceland is very green. Hey, are you ever going to install those pretty new parts on your car? Just thought I would ask since I just ordered a bunch of MM parts for my latest project.

We could order a bunch of pizza's and hang out at someone's house who has a big enough living room or back porch for everyone.
No one seems to be happy with the choice of restaurants around here.

The park where they set off the fireworks by the river is a nice area. A little secluded also. Nice view and scenery. It's just off the 192 causeway.

Thats not a bad idea. I'd offer my place, (pool table, darts, kegerator) but there is just no parking. Between my 2 cars and my roomate's cars we already park along the street. Not to mention, all the senior citizens that live around me would probably $hit a brick if 20 mustangs came rumbling down the road.

I should be able to stay away from an airliner until Sept. I'm hoping to get everything installed sometime this month.

Website is ccwheel.com but it sucks, I am trying to get him to let me redo it.

I have to say...thank god for Edelbrock. Just talked to their tech guy and he told me more than TCI, Summit, and JEGS combined...and this was about transmissions! Edelbrock doesn't even sell transmissions! Man I love this company....

Rough ETA for new tranny and components installed: Last week of August

And now for my next inquiry that will lead to copious amounts of money being spent, anyone have any recomendations for car tinters in the melb area? I could just go to one of the stereo shops, but if someone has a place that they'd recommend, I'll give them a hollar.

Same for a machine shop. Anyone have a good experience locally? I'm not looking for engine work, but some holes milled into spindles.

Brake system mods in the works?

The spindles are mild steel so when I converted to Wilwood brakes on the coupe I just used my shop drill press to enlarge the mounting holes for the caliper brackets.

I wish. I need the tierod holes hogged out to 5/8" for the bumpsteer kit. I had considered doing them with the drill press, but I want to make sure that the holes are cut perfectly straight. I'd rather pay a few extra bucks to have it done on a mill just for this reason. While there really isn't much of a difference between a drill press and a mill in this application, a mill base tends to be MUCH more stable and makes a better surface to clamp to.

Besides, the last thing I need is any possibility for my new 99 spindles to be ruined. With my luck lately, I'm sure it'd happen.

Ahh, ok I hear ya. I just picked up a BS kit but it uses a tapered stud so it isn't necessary to drill out the spindle. I think the type you have may provide a little more range of adjustment though.

Thinking about it though, you will have a spherical rod end replacing the standard tie rod end so wouldn't it be able to handle any slight variation from true vertical? Reason I ask is that it can be very difficult mount something as oddly shaped as a spindle on an end mill table. I had a hell of a time getting my Victor intake manifold bolted down true on the mill table when I milled out my bolt holes.

Exactly. The non tapered design gives you more adjustment range at the expense of having to drill the holes. With the 99 spindles, the steering arm is straight for improved ackermann, but also giving you even more range. With this setup, I'll have more range than I'll ever need but I had already bought the bumpsteer kit before the tapered designs hit the market.

While the heim joints will allow for even gross variations off the vertical, my perfectionist nature wants it as perfect as possible. This will also make the initial "eyeball" alignment a bit less of an optical delusion.

As for mounting it on the mill, if the machine shop has even half of the bench accesories my grandfather has for his, it shouldn't be much of a problem.

Dan, if you feel like taking the spindles down to Vero Beach I could hook you up with a primo machinist. He recently retired from the college and now has a private operation working out of his house. He makes a lot of billet aluminum (yes, Bling-Bling) parts for Mustangs and Lightnings but can do other things as well.

I might take you up on that but I'm going to look around locally first. I don't mind the drive, but I'd just as soon not if I don't have to.

Aw, damn you know I was going to respond to this because there is a place I went to, but I dont remember the name and I cant give an EXACT location. But if you happen to be in the area look for them to do tint work, I had them work on my ex's tint and it came out great and the guy was nice. The place im referring to is in the Casselberry area on 17/92. Say you take I-4 from melbourne and you get off 436, take it to 17/92 and make a left. Its a few miles on the right hand side. I know there is a consignment shop there, I went there for my daughter too. Its in a very small strip mall visible from the street. I think if you hit 434 you went too far....

Uh, yeah sorry its a little vague I have a terrible memory.

Well, first of all you can't take I-4 out of Melbourne. I would estimate it takes a good hour and fifteen minutes to get to I-4 from Melbourne. To get to Casselberry it's at least an hour forty-five to two hours. Dan is also on beach side so that is a bit of a haul. Maybe I shouldn't be speaking for Dan, but I think he was hoping to find something in the Melbourne/Palm Bay/Cocoa Beach area.

Dan, there's a place called Sun Stopper that I'm planning on using whenever I get around to tinting my windows. They only do legal stuff, though. Anywho, the guy's name is Ken Campbell, the # is 768-1215. They're on Palm Bay Rd.
