omg what a bunch of pansy's... i live in california and daily drive my no catted car to and from work every single day. I been pulled over numerous times and not once has anyone ever questioned my exhaust in all my years of living and driving in this tree hugging state. Bolt on your factory pipe for tests and store it the rest of the time. Its a one man 90 min max job, all you need is a jack, wrench, and brain. Grow a pair and live on the wild side there daredevil

Yeah, well I'll keep my cats and the $10000 ($2500 per cat) it would cost me in fines if I were to be pulled over here in L.A. and checked against them...I don't like the rules either but my Spintechs make plenty of noise with the stock cats and my custom X-pipe...I get compliments and I don't have to look over my shoulder...it ain't a question of growing "nads", it's a question of peace of mind...anyone without "nads" wouldn't be driving a V8 rear wheel drive car anyhow...just my 2 cents

I know of a guy on here who has the magnaflow catted X and knows the right shop to go to for smog. And another guy on here just got his MAC ProChamber on and kept his stock H pipe for inspection time. I think it is worth the risk if you are careful and don't go around revving your car everywhere.

$500 per 1HP gain doesnt sound like a good deal to me. Thats how the math works out if you get caught with a non stock mid pipe. The gains with an aftermarket mid pipe just dont seem worth it. I know they make the car sound better and give a descent gain, but not worth 10000 dollars.
