I'll cut to the chase....
615 HP 408 with forged internals, afr 205s
6 and 4 piston (F/R) wilwood discs
Has all the stuff to make it a street car (windshield, pass. seat, etc)
Needs paint

You have all seen mine, but here....

I think the trade is close to straight up. Not totally sure.
I am gonna sell or trade this for a cobra either way.

Oh yeah...

It is a CONTEMPORARY CLASSIC made in 1988.

I am also looking at a Factory 5 built by Gordon Levy for about $40K (totally new)

I for one like the coupe more. Not to take anything from the cobra (and i have driven one). I saw your coupe on here a few weeks ago and i was thinking about selling my 65 coupe but I decided not to sell it after checking yours out. I figured it would cost me more later to get another coupe and get it ready to road race. The cobra looks like a real mean ride. I don't know about the value as far as an even trade, either way that cobra looks like a lot of fun. Did you ever figure out why your coupe wouldn't run?

The magnetic pick up in the MSD distributor apparently registers too high.

I got 2100 ohms compared to 400 - 1300 by the MSD specs.

If UPS ever decides to visit me, I will be able to see if it is good.

I love my coupe.

If I get a police academy date (i.e. good money), I will buy a FFR from Levy Racing and I might not have to sell the coupe.

I am getting really pissed about that.

I need the car to drive around when I get down to Tempe on the 10th.

MSD said they shipped it, so tomorrow (THU) is the latest it should be here.

If not, they are re-embursing me for the one that I am going to buy.

I think I am going to wait and save up for the FFR Daytona Coupe with a 500/500 351W stroker and 5 speed.

One question, how big an 'ol boy are you? I'm 5'-10" and weigh in at about 270, have a size 11 shoe, and wear a 38x32 jean. I sat in a FFR Cobra at the Tulsa Shelby Meet last year, he had a skinny racing seat in there, so my azz wouldn't fit all the way down in the seat, but that wasn't the problem. I'm not that long legged, but there is no room whatso ever in the footwell of that car and my knees would hit up against the steering column. Now I could stand to drop about a 100 pounds, but my feet aren't going to get any smaller, nor my legs any shorter, so I still doubt I'd fit into the car. Just something to keep in mind.

I am 5 11 185.

I wouldn't want to be any bigger and have to sit in one. I know what you are saying. It isn't exactly a cadillac.

The big guys don't use a seat rack (they bolt the driver's seat as far back and down as possible), they adjust the pedals, and steering column.

Cobra Choice

Been building a FFR since selling Chepie. Very enjoyable & affordable!

There is s suprb website for the FFR cars www.ffcobra.com and it includes a builder's forum, as well as lot's of other forums. Give it a thourough checking out.

The roadsters are 13,000
The coupes are 15,000

Basically, the roadsters cost anywhere from $25,000 to $45,000 when finished.

The coupes = $32,000 to $60,000.

It depends if you use a donor 5.0 or if you use brand new parts, IRS, new engines, etc.

I want a roadster with a 5 link suspension, a 500 hp 408, 5 speed, fuel cell, 4 wheel discs.

I want the same in a coupe, but with AC.

A cheaper roadster (donor build with a mild 5.0 engine) would make a fun daily driver in places where it doesn't rain much.

Stay with the Coupe. I'm of the same opinion as bgs66. Seeing your Coupe recently was what finally got me fired up to rip the engine out of mine. I've pictures of your Coupe saved on my hard drive for inspiration.

I've never sat or driven a Cobra, and at 6'-2'' and 210 lbs I doubt if I could. I've no doubt that they are fast and a blast to drive. I just persoanlly don't like the style.

I am also "Chepsk8" on the roadster forums. I bought a MkII with the 3-link, and many upgrades, for $15,850 and bought a 88 GT donor for a grand. Watching the budget, I'm only in for about $23K, but have good disc brakes, lot's of cool stuff I did by myself.

Some of the big reasons I chose the FFR include lot's of foot room, including the biggest dropped footbox in the industry, a flexible build, the body lines are good, and I like the idea of completely building the car.

I have a Factory Five Raodster, it took 7 months to build including doing the bodywork and paint... 5.0 with a T-5, 3:55's, PSE Engineering Halibrand Replica, Auto meter phantoms, a 190lph fuel pump and a Powerdyne 6PSI blower and let me tell you it is a blast !!!!. I'm also building the 66 coupe thats the same color Viper Blue w/white stripes, 5.0 AOD etc. etc. and I'd be really surprised if when the coupe is done ( hopefully about two more weeks) that it's anywheres near as much fun to drive as the FFR.
