I currrently have 4 cats on my '04 GT. I plan on going with either a UPR or magnaflow catted X-pipe (both with 2 cats). My first question is...are currently, all 4 of my cats connected to the computer via O2 sensors, or just 2 or them? So when I go with one of these aftermarket x-pipes, will I need just one pair of O2 extenders? Also, will I or will I not need MIL eliminators? Keep in mind this is a CA stang. Thanks for the help. -Eric

All 4 cats are connected, not just 2. You are going to need one pair of o2 extenders like you stated. It is very possible that the aftermarket pipe may trip your check engine light. If this happens, look into getting some MIL eliminators.
Just remember to reset your computer after everything is installed. Good luck

As stated by dsg_gt2004, you should be ok. To let you, the rear O2's are actually just monitors for the cats...making sure they are working/burnig efficiently. The aftermarket high flow cats that I have seen, work great.

why would he need o2 extensions? shouldn't they plug into the same place on the new x-pipe? I needed them when I got long tubes because it moved the spot down lower. Also I went completely catless and never tripped the check engine light

04's have the bungs for the o2's placed in different places due to the different location of the cats....JUST THE 04's(wanted us to spend more money )

ok, so I will need extenders and I will maybe need MIL eliminators. Can someone tell me what MIL eliminators are and why I would need them, and where they go on the car. Thanks.

from Steeda.com

MIL eliminators prevent signals from the rear O2 sensors from unnecessarily triggering the Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL), commonly known as the "check engine" light, on 96 & up Mustangs equipped with off-road exhaust systems. The MIL eliminators leave the "check engine" light fully operational for all other functions, so the engine management processor can still send a warning signal if more serious engine problems develop. MIL eliminators are intended for off-road use only.
O2 sensors go in between your o2 sensor and the harness coming from your car

yeah but they are $60 and if I don't need them I don't want them. What I do need is to have someone with an '04 GT to come in here that has doen the X-pipe because it seems all the years were a little different when it comes to exhaust. Thanks guys.

i have heard numerous stories where you dont need them. i was just saying, if you installed it and got that light and it wouldnt go away, that you could get MIL's. You prob. wont need them, so dont worry about them. i just wanted you to know what to expect.
