I noticed when I bought my car that it had wet injectors and that they were mismatched, some black, some brown. After I drove the 500 miles home they stopped leaking and haven't leaked since. Will it hurt anything driving it like that for a little while or should I get a matched set now?Would there be a power increase?

I would get a match set. I bought my OEM ones for about $230 if I remember right. I ran with some other injectors for a few days before, and it backfired like hell, no power, ect.

And yes, I changed them because they were leaking. Turns out the plastic at the top of the injector was cracked and leaking, and I thought it was the O-Rings. After the third set of different brand O-Rings, I just bought new injectors.

The old '88 leaky injector syndrome.

I beleive there was a TSB on 1988 models having leaky injectors. Mine had them as well.

Swap em out for some good matched 19#ers

No, it's what you had stock.

I wouldn't even waste my time buying new 19#ers. If you are going to buy brand spanking new injectors, get some 24#ers and buy a new MAF calibrated for them (or get a chip burnt)

Then you have adequate fuel for future mods.

Or you can just buy a used set of 19's for now. You can get newer low milages ones from new GT's. I beleive up to 2002 had the 19's.

My 2003 has pink injectors...which are either 19 or 21#. I forget which.

He would have to upgrade to MAF before going to 24#.

Leave the injectors that are on it now. They may look nasty but they are not hurting you. They just ooze a bit.

Save your money and use it to buy 24's next winter and do it right. There is no reason to buy a new set of 19's now.

If it runs OK and they stopped leaking then why fix something that isnt broke ?? I would just drive on them. Especially if you plan to build up next year.

Well, all but one are brown and the one in the front on the drivers side is black with a blue ring around it.I am guessing that it went bad and the previous owner replaced it.
