Okay I've narrowed all of my problems down to the EFI system. Problems being; lack of power, stumbling, hesitation, rough idle\high idle, and the misfire. I've ruled out the Ignition system cause I've replaced it down to all but the TFI module on the distributor. I'm thinking how often do the vane air meters go bad? I'm going to replace the ECT sensor, IAC controller, test the TPS system for .9 voltz(correct me if i'm wrong). The FPR was replaced at 110000 miles (currently 130,000). When I test the other sensors am I looking for a 5 volt reference, before I remove them? And I was also curious about the EGR valve diaphram leaking cause I thought I was hearing a exhaust leak.

Another thing I was wondering is ther a MAP sensor on these cars or is it intergrated to the VAM?

just FYI the misfire is only under boost at around 9lbs. If I slowly left it get up to boost its fine until WOT.

any takers?

Are you sure, I mean absolutly sure you dont have an exhaust leak? I had one and I was misfiring like a SoB. Just a though before you throw anymore money at it.

QUITE THROWING PARTS AT IT.

That is no way to "fix" a problem. Have you scanned for codes? What's the plug gap? What brand plugs and wires? How do the plugs look when you pull them out?

Id have to agree with Stinger, like I said, I had the same problem and no codes were comming out. And with completly new wires and plugs perfectly gapped, yeah, a leak in the exhaust is something I never though could cause that much trouble.

- check your timing belt. May have skipped a tooth or two.

I just went through a very similar scenario you describe. Just check it, only takes a minute.

I retorqued the exhaust manifold just to be sure. The plugs are motocraft plugs gapped to .34. wires are motorcraft. Every thing I've replaced has been the ford replacement. I have not checked the timming belt since I re did it about a year ago. I do how ever hear some sputtering when I slowly get it up to speed, but I can't distungush where its comming from with the road noise. I was just throwing ideas out to possibly identify the problem I havn't bought anything yet execpt for the ignition switch on the steering column cause It won't start unless I jump the starter solinoid. I'm bringing the car into the shop on sat, to pull fo codes.

Just a thought but maybe a failing or clogged injector that can't keep up with the fuel demand needed for the boost. Maybe a loose connection to the injector.....
