My 78 t-top II is missing the drivers side brace that goes between the left fender and the firewall. I have seen them called export braces or t-top braces but I haven’t been able find one that looks like the one I have. I’m assuming it’s original.

Anyone have any idea where I can get one?

Here is the one on the passenger side.

Those are almost unobtainable. I think your best bet, if you want one in the near future, would be Phil Schmidt. Otherwise, you'll probably have to keep a close eye on Ebay for a good long while.

I'm fairly sure you can find Phil in the FB groups, otherwise I believe someone here recently contacted him about something. I don't have his info unfortunately.

If you're not doing a concourse restoration, just make one out some square bar.

Not going to be a concourse resto. I was thinking I would just make my own out of some steel pipe and heim joints. Figured I would ask in case anyone knew where to find one.

I would love to see your result. Export brace it is called on the 1gen stangs.
The same thing is on my todo/wish-list... but will not happen soon (as most things).

Perhaps this pictures inspire you for your solution (they are all 1gen stang)
