Cold Air Intake. Without getting "technical" (I know someone is going to ) it is worth crapola and nothing on the dyno.

Justin, I got my bullet lug nuts from wheel replicas(www.wheelreplicas.com). If they can't help you out let me know, I may be able to part with one of mine.

Thanks alot man. I just talked with them about it. They can't send me the keys alone so I just got a whole new set. They gave it to me for wholesale, though. I realized that I have a couple of rust spots on my old ones .... so I'll probably strip these down & have them powdercoated.

BTW, be careful with the keys! I was using a breaker bar and snapped both keys.

I regret getting my gears because there is gear whine and its annoying as hell and my speedo is still ****ed up.

I also regret getting u/d pulleys because my car is back in the shop for making the same wierd noise. I'm pretty sure it's from of the the pulleys. Also as stated above, it f'd up my alternator.

I regret my o/r H pipe, I had to go through a lot of trouble to register my car in another county. It also scares me when a cop is next to me I'm scared that he's going to pull me over, give me a $5,000 fine and impound my car for not having cats.

Basically almost every mod I put into this car I regret, but these little problems are what make my car special and I would not have it any other way.

Two main ones i hated were

underdrive pullies: ****ty charging no power gains at all. I sold mine on ebay and my stockers are back on.

Non Stainless Exhaust: I wish i would have gotten a stainless catback and midpipe instead of MAC catback and BBK X because they are rusting now.

BBK Chrome Shorties: Im getting Ceramic Long tubes soon because i want the power and better underhood temps. Plus they wont rust and look like crap after a few months.

I think the bottom line is to decide your long term goals right from the start. Like, do you want a big n/a combo? If so dont go blowing money on a budget h/c/i at first just cause you cant afford the 408 you want down the road. Or if you want to be blown eventually, dont blow your money buying things that dont result in that goal. Idk, like I said before, I really wish I would have known what my long term goals were so I wouldnt have wasted so much money.

My weak-ass cam, too-small heads, restrictive 75mm TB and MAF, BBK CAI--its actually smaller in diameter than the TB and MAF, Flowmaster Force II catback--its too quiet, BBK Catted X-pipe--two things, shoulda gone with an H pipe and without cats, and just held onto the stock cats for testing. I regret not putting in a new K member and painting the engine bay when i had the motor out.

This list really makes me realize I botched. Its ok, come March I get a $35,000 loan at something ridiculous like 1% interest.

Edit: ok, came back to add more things. Too small injectors, a 190 lph pump that i'll have to replace again when I add a supercharger.

honestly my problem is buying cheap junk.

I bought a ton of cheap stuff that i ended up replacing again. Like my CC plates, Bumpsteer kit, hood, front bumper, roller rockers.....i dont want to go on.

After considerable spending and looking back at my mistakes i will now ONLY buy quality parts, no more ebay specials.

as far as mods though, im quite happy, but i agree on the UD pullies.....

Man I have to step up and say something about underdrive pulleys. They were by far the BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK mod I have ever done to my car. I've had them on my car since 1998 without one hint of problems. I have no idea how anyone can attribute pulleys to alternator failures. I went from a 14.96 at 91.5mph to a 14.6 at 94.89 with nothing else done to the car besides the addition of ASP aluminum underdrive pulleys. When I first put the pulleys on I ran an entire year with a 600W crossfire amp and RF punch 12" sub in my car without a hint of charging problems. I ran my combo with the stock radiator too without any issues with cooling with the underdrive pulleys until I put the xenon front fascia on which restricted airflow across the radiator. The car was my daily driver during both of these examples.

The only mods I regret doing were my old 16" chrome wheels, shorty headers, and going with 3.73's before making the switch to 4.10's. Evrything else worked better than I could have ever hoped for. I have yet to drive a car with a G force T5, but once that occurs I may regret going with the TKO.

They must not be 3.90'sor something is way off. According to the gear calcs you should be at 2603rpm at 75mph! 3000rpm doesn't come until over 85mph..

I regret the C&L meter and summit racing injectors.

PROm was out of business at the time so I had to get the c&L. The injectors were just the wrong choice, the accel's are machined so much better and only a tiny bit more expensive. oh well, c'est la vie.

Lets see...when I had a 5.0...

245's - buying NEW 245'S - Comp T/A's at that. What a piece of **** tire.

I loved the experience and looks with the SVO side exhaust - but far too much fabrication and money spent on fabbing it up. If I ever do side exhaust again it will be purely customized with NO FIBERGLASS.

Buying MAC white faced gauges - yup never put those on at all and in retrospect that are ****. Sold those on craigslist!

Equal length headers. I was dumb. At least they were ceramic coated Bassani's!

Oh and lastly....replacing the stock clutch...with a stock clutch. (1st time mechanic/1st time ever having the car serviced = noob)

I agree about the pullies, I hate my Mac's but only because they are Mac. I too saw .3 drop in my 1/4 and for the price that is HARD to beat. I just hate how crappy they look and hold up (though I think I have them done up good now).

Maybe it depends on the brand of pullies. Probably depends more on the individual car though. Mine are Mac, are you surprised? Crappy crap crap...

The quality of my MACS were fine, just the charging issue was what I hated.
