hmm. thanks for the correction, still driving driving at 2600rpms sucked balls.Pokageek said:They must not be 3.90'sor something is way off. According to the gear calcs you should be at 2603rpm at 75mph! 3000rpm doesn't come until over 85mph..
Killercanary said:Man I have to step up and say something about underdrive pulleys. They were by far the BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK mod I have ever done to my car. I've had them on my car since 1998 without one hint of problems. I have no idea how anyone can attribute pulleys to alternator failures. I went from a 14.96 at 91.5mph to a 14.6 at 94.89 with nothing else done to the car besides the addition of ASP aluminum underdrive pulleys. When I first put the pulleys on I ran an entire year with a 600W crossfire amp and RF punch 12" sub in my car without a hint of charging problems. I ran my combo with the stock radiator too without any issues with cooling with the underdrive pulleys until I put the xenon front fascia on which restricted airflow across the radiator. The car was my daily driver during both of these examples.
The only mods I regret doing were my old 16" chrome wheels, shorty headers, and going with 3.73's before making the switch to 4.10's. Evrything else worked better than I could have ever hoped for. I have yet to drive a car with a G force T5, but once that occurs I may regret going with the TKO.
The quality of my MACS were fine, just the charging issue was what I hated.1TallMF said:Maybe it depends on the brand of pullies. Probably depends more on the individual car though. Mine are Mac, are you surprised? Crappy crap crap...
