I have a '66 and am wondering which motor mounts I need. When I go to Autozone they ask me if the build date is "Built from 4/66", or "Built to 3/66". How can I find out? and what is the difference between the motor mounts from the 2 different build dates?

Best way to do it is take them the old one. If I remember right the older of the 2 had a triangular shape piece that took one bolt and the newer one was held down by 2 bolts on the frame part.

It is not to hard to figure out. Crawl underneath and look at the how the rubber part of the motor mount is attached to the metal part attached to the shock tower.

If it is held together directly to the shock tower bracket by what appears to be a 3-4" bolt going "parallel" with the oil pan, it is the later mount.

If the rubber part is mounted to a V shaped piece of metal by a single bolt (actually a stud) THEN bolted to the shock tower mount with a bolt (actually a stud) that is pointed straight down at the ground, you have the early mount.

Here is a pic of an early one being modified: http://www.erareplicas.com/fiaman/engine/mountmod.htm
Look at the bottom pic in particular. . . . . .
