I'm thinking about a midpipe next summer and am interested in the MRT-H catted pipe. Any of you guys have this pipe? Opinions? Sound clips? Video?
Thanks fellas.

I'm not interested in the Xpipe due to the raspy sound. I want the traditional muscle car sound that the Hpipe gives, just need a little more volume than my CB alone.

The fitment of mine sucked. The company refused to work with me to resolve the issue.

I installed the MRT catted H-pipe this past spring. I give it a huge thumbs up. Here's why:

1.) Killer sound with my deltaflow flowmaster two-chambers

2.) Perfect fitment/no install problems

3.) No MIL, unlike many people who have purchased the Bassani catted X-pipe. I've got over 5,000 miles on the catted H-pipe now and still no MIL.

The only other pipe I ever considered was the Prochamber. The PC sounds even better than my MRT catted H-pipe, but I didn't get it because it wasn't made with the same quality stainless steel and wasn't available with cats at the time. However, I think they now have a catted version.

And for the minimal horsepower gain with a n/a engine, please just get a catted h-pipe. The amount of pollution a car spews into the environment without cats in place is a hundred times greater than the 5-6 horsepower you'll receive. I could have gone either way (we don't have emissions testing in my area of the country) but I still opted for the catted version. The non-catted H and X-pipes are also considerably louder than catted versions. Gotta say though, the no-cat versions of h-pipes sound awfully good with most muffler systems! And non-catted X-pipes sound just plain awful in my opinion with most muffler systems. Just my opinion.

I just ordered the MRT catted H, as it is the best (and about the only H) available! Should go good with the Flowmaster AT Catback on my 02...hopefully will be on next weekend!
I'm surprised tl75keith had such a problem - I've only heard great things about this pipe. I found it cheapest at PartShopper, using the "stangnet" coupon code, the price was $417.95, no tax, no shipping charges-FedEx ground.
With your Magnoflow Catback, BigBee, you could also look at the SLP catted X, another quality piece, stainless steel as well, and it's modular - the cats can be easily replaced with 'race pipes' and the whole midpipe also works with SLP long tube headers (which are also high quality). Neither of these are the cheapest in town, but I hate crap.
I also had considered the MAC catted ProChamber, but it seems MACPerformance doesn't bother or have time to answer their emails, other than a canned email stating, "Thank You for Your Request.
This is an automated response..... we will answer your request soon
." Never heard another word from them.

You more than likely won't get an MIL with catted pipes.

I hope yours fits better than mine. You don't hear much about these pipes because not many of us have them. If you search, though, you will find some major fitment problems. Supposedly this was when they first came out, but I tried mine this summer. Good luck

Curious - I noticed you have a catted Bassani X-pipe. Did you get a MIL?

With Bassani's new catalytic converters they're using on the 5 piece X-pipe I haven't thrown a code in 5+ months. But even if I get one who cares? I didn't get this pipe to remove exhaust emissions better than the stocker but to flow better and it sounds sweet with their catback.

Well, I'd care only because then I'd have to buy MIL eliminators or get a chip/tune to shut off the rear O2 sensors. I used to think "that's just the cost of getting a mid-pipe - even a catted mid-pipe", and then MRT came out with their pipe and most people never get a MIL. Apples to apples, I thought the MRT was a better choice when I made my purchase decision. Don't know what the Bassani typically goes for, but my MRT H-pipe was around $430 shipped. I'm assuming the Bassani catted X is similar in price, but I haven't seen what they are currently going for.

I didn't know Bassani was using new cats on their X-pipes. Good for them for upgrading them. My brother bought their catted X-pipe for his '00 a few years ago and it tripped the MIL within 100 miles.

I will say this - of all x-pipe mustang exhaust combos I've heard, I think the Bassani X and Bassani CB sounds the best. Head and shoulders above the magnaflow/pack w/ X pipe sound IMO. And now with quality cats, you are definintely getting what you paid for.
