Hi I have a 2000 mustang gtam having some hi idle Problems what should I look for thanks

Does the car have a check engine light? What is it currently idling at? Is it consistent or does the high idle vary?

No light on just sticks at a 1000rpm then drops down

Is the car moving or stopped?

For a factory Mustang expect a slightly different behavior when the car is moving vs stopped. But in general it's NORMAL for the idle to hang around 1000 RPM (fast idle) before slowing to a slow idle.

^^ this is spot on
