Just wondering. Me and my wife are expecting my new son soon. I can afford the payments but am pondering selling the stang to have extra family cash. So honestly...please help me. What would be a fair asking price for it? I am thinking 25k, but not sure. The mileage is what is hard to sell: 35,000 miles

Unfortunately your mods aren't going to be worth much if anything. I would suspect high blue book.

My advice is strip off what you can sell on the forums or ebay and reclaim your money there, and then sell the car at a more stock like trim.

Beautiful car by the way.

Edit: I'll buy your eibachs when you do decide to take them off

It could be that no one wants to hurt your feelings. The modifications will not add value, as was said. Take off all you can.
If you are trading, I doubt that you will get high book value.
You can look up the low book value, average trade-in, etc. on many web sites.
I would think with discounts, X plan, etc. you could get a new 2008 GT premium convertible for around $30,000. Is your's worth only $5,000 less?
I can't answer that.

I'm gonna go in a different direction here. Speaking from the perspective of one with kids that are grown and outta the house (youngest is in his second year of college), my advice, if you can afford it, would be to hold onto that car as long as you can. As has already been stated, the mods aren't going to increase the resale value of the car, and you've got a substantial amount of miles on an 06, so you might as well hold onto it and enjoy the mods. Besides, it is a beautiful ride. My guess is that eventually, if you're like most of us, it will have to go. Once it does, if your story is anything like most of ours it will be a long, long time before you get a replacement.

Your best bet to figure out how much its worth is to see what other cars are selling for. If you don't want to convert back towards stock, your only chance at not getting murdered is private party sale.

On ebay, here are some current similar vehicles:

That is, unfortunately, the reality of it.

Potential buyers either don't care about the mods you made, and are unwilling to pay extra for them. Or potential buyers do care, but question your particular brand choices, or wonder about the quality of your workmanship, and are unwilling to pay extra for them.

If anything, it might make your Mustang sell faster.

Piggybacking on that, I just recently (a month ago) sold my old 2000 V6 Mustang. I had several visual mods (all tasteful stuff from factory mustangs) done to it, and exhaust and filter were the only performance mods. It was a 2000 with 30k miles and I was original owner. I sold it for a couple hundred over "high" KBB private party in under 3 hours on craigslist. My car had incredible curb appeal, really low mileage, and the price was set right - dealers were asking as much as $3k more for my car with no mods, and 2-3 times as many miles. Now that would be a ripoff.

So I guess the moral of my story is expect to be able to list it for a small amount over KBB, but don't expect too much more.

Ebay would be the best place to sell it if you want to leave everything on there simply because younger generaton with some money are looking for a very fast car they can show off to their friends in and not have to build themselves. But if your looking to sell it locally I would strip everything off.

Then again if I were you I wouldn't sell it until I had 2 jobs and was just dead tired from working my ass off to keep it.
