Building a 2000 mustang gt convertible for street performance and mustang club cruising current performance mods: rebuilt stock 4.6 2v. Tfs tw 185 38cc heads withbtfs cams stage 2,pi intake lt headers, 73 mm bbk tb plenum combo: dyno'd by willy Lynch of dirty dirty racing: 282 whp / 300 Tq.. intake is thought to be the restriction.
Replacing pi intake with vic jr efi... dyno results by 3/26 supporting mods: 3.73 gears, 4r70w jmod, fti 2800sbdes stall torque
Converter, 24lb injectors, 255blph walbro, new motorcraft cops,o/r H pipe 2.5 catback with flowmaster super 44s, staggered nitto 555 g2s, hoping it exceeds 320 whp???

Are you asking if you're going to get 40 WHP from an intake, my guess would be No.

If you stopped making power at 3250 then there is something wrong other than intake.
like to see that dyno graph,
3250 sounds very familiar

I'm gonna guess a 20hp gain but it likely will move the power around in the RPM range.
On the next dyno run post that graph.
Need to pay attention to the fuel pressure during the run.

Yes....ahhh....er.....no
Depending on trans type, gear ratio and weight 300 +- whp can be fun on the street....but there is always 'more fun'

Am I the only 2v owner looking to take advantage of tfs heads ans cam performance upgrade describe/ approved by David Vizard & Richard holdener? I'm in the final build stage 3/23-3/26
I will get my vic jrefi intake installed to compliment the TW 185/38cc heads stage 2 cams, jlt ram air intake 90mm sct ba2600 maf 73mm tb/ plenum, 24lb injectors 255 lph walbro fuel pump, bbk lt headers with or hpipe, 4r70w jmodded, 3.73 gears...I m building a street and mustang club cruiser to hang with fi mustangs in my club... this well by my old/new school n/a hot rod. With final mods conplete 3/23- 3/25 and dyno tuned 3_26... stay tuned of you're curious how this turns out...all questions are welcome!

Here is build plan going into my 3/26/2026 dyno session:

BUILD SPEC: 2000 Mustang GT (4.6L 2V) – TFS/3.73/BA2600

Goal: N/A Street/Strip Efficiency

Tuning Strategy: High-Resolution Induction + 6,000 RPM Shift Recovery

1. Induction & Metering (The Airflow System)

  • Heads: Trick Flow Twisted Wedge 185s.
  • Intake: JLT Ram Air feeding a BBK 73mm Throttle Body/Plenum combo.
  • MAF: SCT BA2600 (90mm).
  • Calibration: Scaling for the 90mm housing and 73mm plenum volume. Focusing on VE (Volumetric Efficiency) table accuracy to match the TFS high-flow ports.

2. Ignition & Combustion

  • Spark: Motorcraft SP-432 gapped at .032" - .035".
  • Coils: New Motorcraft DG508.
  • Timing: Target 21-22° WOT (Conservative start for TFS high-efficiency chambers).

3. Drivetrain & Gearing (The Leverage)

  • Rear Gear: 3.73:1.
  • Transmission: 4R70W with Mechanical J-Mod.
  • Shift Strategy: STOCK Electronic Pressure Settings (let the J-Mod handle the hit).
  • WOT Shift Points: 6,000 RPM (1-2 and 2-3).
  • Shift Recovery: Aiming for a 4,200+ RPM landing point to stay in the meat of the TFS power band.

4. Safety & Targets

  • A/F Ratio: 12.5:1 – 12.8:1 (WOT).
  • Rev Limiter: 6,250 RPM.
  • Speedo: VSS calibrated for 3.73 gears

So the dyno peakbnumber didn't change from the pi intake but the vicjr change the behavior goingbout to 6080rs which creat that huge 73% increase in the area under the 0curve this car has a light tip in and pulls hard much longer, where the pi intake choked out at 5600 rs....

The difference between turbulence caused by the pi"s long runners that can't handle the high velocity incoming air!! My car issilky smooth climbing thru 6 the r's. I TOLD MY DYNO TUNER I,wanted a street brawler and club cruiseri might compete with the numerous fi mustangs on the top in but I guarantee you .the will have to work hard to catch me while building boost!!
