Mystichrome Paint on an SN95??? Pics? Anyone seen this combo?

I'm looking for pics of an SN95 with Mystichrome paint. Been doing some searches, but nothing yet.

Unlike the 96 Cobra Mystic paint, the 2004 Cobra Mystichrome paint is readily available to the general public. I've seen posts on several Mustang-related forums about stangers intersted in putting Mystichrome paint on their SN95, but so far no one has done it.

If you've got pics OR if you've even seen this combo first hand, please post.

Ive never seen one. But i do think it would look great. Its really an awesome color, one of my favorites.

I got those from the faq page. Its not mystichrome, but maybe it will help give you an idea? What about the 98 cobras that were mysichrome? they pretty muchlook the same?

The Mystichrome color involves green, blue, and purple. The whole process of creating the paint and how the paint works is totally different from the Mystic paint used on the 96 Cobra.

Anyone else?

Nope. Mystichrome has green in it, which is a color I like a lot. The car pics above are awesome, but that's a different paint. BASF made the 96 Mystic paint, but I believe that Dupont made the 2004 Cobra Mystichrome paint.

The paint job above looks like BASF paint, because it is so similar to the 96 Mystic paint, plus I think the owner has had that paint job for a couple years.

I talked to a guy at the New England Dragway, he had a 96 Mistichrome Cobra which was incredable. He told me his kid scratched it with a bike and it was a pita to have fixed. He said that the paint used on his car is the same or very similar to the paint used to make our American Bills. When he wanted to get the scratch fixed he had to have it appraised (no kidding) but upon the appraisal he found out that he can only order the exact amount of paint needed to fix the scratch. I guess those who make counterfit money use that paint... Because of those counterfitters the paints distribution is highly regulated by our government.

Now I all I have to back this up is the conversation I had with that guy, but if you have ever seen a Mystichrome painted Cobra compare it to the color changing parts of an American bill - very similar indeed.
If you are thinking of doing this color I would expect it to be very expensive. You will get lots of positive reviews though, its a killer color.

You are pretty much correct on that. However, that guys paint was the 96 Mystic paint. The newer 2004 Mystichrome paint is very easy to fix in case of scratches. The government issue also came up with the 96 Mystic paint.

The paint itself is more expensive than normal paint, however, the process is the same as any other color. I think the 2004 Mystichrome paint is roughly $600 per quart. Two quarts are needed for our cars and anyone can order it.

That is a 96 Mystic Cobra paint job and that is probably a real 96 Mystic Cobra. I had a friend with one of these and got to see it all the time for a couple years. Absolutely beautiful!

If you check out a pic of the 2004 Mystichrome Cobra, you'll see that the colors are of a different shade and the paint shifts differently. Hard to explain, but once you see both cars (96 and 2004) you won't mistake one for the other.

Maybe nobody with a 94-98 stang has repainted their car with this paint?

i guy i know painted a 94 or 95 gt with the mystic from a 96 but he sold to some girl around here. last time i saw the car the whole passenger side was bondoed(?)and sanded. it didnt even have primer on it yet.

I think most are getting the two paint colors mixed up.

Heres a pic of a mystic chrome cobra. You can see the distinct difference in color from the mystics.

one of my freinds has his GT with the color changing paint, we call it camileon(what ever that lizard its called), i think it has like 3 colors. Purple,Green and brown. Looks pretty sick, to bad he debadge it up to cobra.

Tech. the 04 is a sn95...so a pic of an 04 mystic is a pic of a mystic sn95. It is called a "new edge" sn95 from the harder lines v. the 94-98's.

I think he wants to see a 94-98 with the 2004 MysticChrome paint scheme.
In 1996 Cobras were painted with Mystic paint,
I don't know what company makes the Mysticchrome but you can check BASF, PPG, House of Kolor or DuPont. They all have variations of Chromeillusion paints in several shades. Good luck on your search and let us know what you come up with.

House of Kolor when I checked a couple years back lets you pick the three stage colors. I used a White Pearl with a Ox Blood flip in it from them on my Stingray and it was sharp. I was thinking on my '89 GT to paint it black again with a stage of grey and red. You can order a test pint and spray a test hood which I keep around for this purpose to see what it looks like.
