I saw a pic of a Mustang II "Baby Grand" racer years ago (maybe in Rocco's catalog?) and thought that it wold be neat to chase one down and use it in a vintage race series. The Baby Grand series raced MII's, Monza's, Vegas, Capri's, Pinto's, Datsun B210, etc. on oval tracks. The car weight was based on the engine displacement, so a B210 running a 1800 cc engine would only have to weigh 1800 lbs while a MII with a 2.3L would have to weigh 2300 lbs. This of course gave the advantage to smaller lighter cars like the Datsun B210.

I came across this article on a "NASCAR Superspeedway Modified" Mustang II which looks to be similar but not identical to the Baby Grand series as it used a V8 engine.

Except for the nose, it looks a lot like a cross between the Kemp Cobra II and the Monroe Handler!
