I am looking for a higher #/hr fuel pump that will drop right in without any modifications necessary. Any suggestions? Links? Thanks

SVO? I'm sure there are a dozen places that make one.

I was hoping for a little more info. Let me add something to this:

I brought it to the tuner last Saturday, and we saw on the dyno what I was feeling on the street. It was a power drop that coincided with a lean condition. He thought it was in the tune, and after a fresh re-tune, it didnt lean out on the dyno again. Then again, he had the key in the on position for about 5 mins each time he changed the tune, which gave the fuel pump time to build pressure in the line.

My thought is this. I have dropped the fuel level to below E on several occasions. I believe the pickup may be clogged. This makes sense to me because I can floor it one time, and it snaps to, and pulls hard like it's supposed to. Try it again right after that, and it feels lazy, then picks up. Just like it looked on the dyno. I believe that after I floor it once, and suck all the pressure out of the line, the pump isnt building up pressure fast enough for it to keep the A/F mixture right. So the next time I get on it, it's lean, just like it showed on the dyno. It also will run ****ty like that after I fill the tank up with fuel.

Any thoughts on that? I mean, I dont think the stock pump is putting out enough as it is (88 l/hr?), even if it was working right. I also cant HEAR the pump kick on when I turn the key. I used to hear it, but not any more. Thanks for any inputs.

I just installed the focus pump and I'm very happy with it. It was a direct plug in for my late production 01', so I think it would be the same as your car. When when/if you get the pump, it comes with the whole bucket. You only really need just the pump, but ford doesn't sell it seperatly. I ended up changing the bottom half of the bucket as well, only because I thought the new check valve may work better. I just got dynoed and never lost fuel pressure at 387/386, so I'm sure it will be fine for your car. However, don't let the tank get below at least a quarter full. If you need pictures or something, let me know.

Also, you can get the aviator pump, steeda dual pumps, and cobra pumps/tank. If you're thinking a blower or turbo is in the future, go with the cobra set-up.

I believe the SVT focus and the regular focus are the same part #, thats what the guy at the dealer told me anyways. Kinda wierd they put a bigger pump in the focus than the mustang but I don't know the lph off the top of my head, but it doesn't really matter anyways, the bucket will go dry before you run out of pump. Someone should make additional check valves that can be added to the stock bucket to help it fill faster. Some people drill holes, but I'm not sure about that. I would think the fuel would just run out as fast at it came in without a check valve.
