Need Help

Hey guys I am new to this so bear with me.

I can start my 02 Mustang first thing in the morning and before it warms up it will have a clicking noise to it but once it warms up it will stop.
I have checked the oil I keep it changed every 3,000 miles I have only had this car since June 06 and the previous owner was a good friend of mine and he said that it has always done that and he bought it brand new.

Also is there a way I can get better gas mileage out of this thing. I only get like 15-17 in town and maybe if I am lucky 22-24 out on the high way.

Any advice would be deeply apprieciated.

Ford says use 5W20 oil, are you using 5W20?

How many miles on your car? Whens the last tune-up? My GT get's 21 City and 27-28 Hwy With an o/r H pipe.

I'm getting about 16 mpg overall also. I'm thinking i need to replace the fuel filter tho

I get 18 or so overall. my brother gets 20 overall in his gt and my grandma gets 24 to 26 mostly highway driving.
