ok, been contemplating changing the spoiler on my wife's car since we bought it, but now i don't know. i think it will look a lot better if we keep the stock type spoiler and just paint it matte black. what do you guys think? also, i was thinking of adding a hood scoop of some sort, don't know which one or if i will even do it. i know they are only for looks, and that is fine with me. right now, the car is stock, so i am not too concerned with it. when the money permits, it will get supercharged and i'll put on a cowl hood. anyway, let the opinions fly. here's a quick pic of the car to get some ideas...

either a ducktail or matte black would look good on your car, IMO. if you get a ducktail, i think one of the shorter ones would fit into your theme a little better than the 4" choices out there.

yeah, we looked into a duck tail, but the only one my wife likes is the CDC one, and then you have to fill in the holes in the trunk, move the 3rd brake light and all that, so if we do anything, it will be a matte black stock spoiler.

as far as the hoodscoop, i would skip it. i have not seen any that would compliment your car.

I believe the matte black stock spoiler would compliment your matte black stripes and the black wheels nicely.

+1 on skipping the hood scoop

I agree,

the car looks enough like a Boss to make that an excellent option.

i personally dont care for the spoilers on the 197s. i yanked mine off and fabricated some rubber washers and dome type screws on top and teflon washers underneath for the time being. i will eventually take the trunk off and have the holes filled and repainted. i like the silver and black theme on your car and the louvers. imo, i think it would look good with one of those black decklid thingees on the trunk, the one that covers the "fake" gas cap and no spoiler...

IF I added a hood scoop, it would be a functional shaker scoop. But I like it just fine without a hood scoop. I agree that a flat black rear spoiler would look good.

You don't HAVE to install a different 3rd brake light. Legally, auto manufacturers have to supply you with a 3rd brake light, but legally, you don't have to keep it. Street scene makes a very similar ducktail that incorporates the 3rd brake light.

If it's there, it must work, but he's right, there is no law stating that it can't be covered.

Sorry I left that part out, since the spoiler would cover it. But yes, if it's visible, it must be in working order.
