Very useful for guys with chips or guys with fuel cut limiters IMO.

I would like to see the difference in a quarter mile improvement for someone running the quarter mile.

I doubt you'd see a major difference in quarter mile times, but it would make your times much more consistent. It is sometimes difficult to launch at the perfect rpm to get get a little wheel spin, but not bog too. The 2 step would make it easy. Simply foot to the floor, it holds 2500 or whatever your setup like and you let the clutch out. The no lift shift would help you hit the gears easier than standard power shifting. So like I said, maybe no huge improvement on ET, but you'd definately be more repeatable.

Their website claims a turbo stang went from a 12.0 1/4 mile to a 11.3 with the addition of the WOT box.

I'd rather go with the MSD 2 step, but I don't know if it has a top end limiter so I don't know why they call it a 2 step.

It certainly could help a turbo car a lot, but I was saying you wouldn't see much gain on an NA car. The turbo car benifits hugely because the 2 step can build boost at the line and the no lift shift would ensure it maintains boost and doesn't need to re-spool between shifts. I don't have a 2 step on my 2.3 and it is a bitch to build boost on the line.

Yeah, Ben, I would like to see a video after you get it installed. I've been looking at the MSD 2step in hopes of finally being able to launch with the nitrous engaged.

Your stock 4.6 rev limiter is probably a fuel cut. I know the 6500 rpm rev limit on my 2.3 is a fuel cut and I've hit it countless times... at 20+psi of boost no less. No harm done. Why?!?! Because it turns the injectors off, so there is no fuel to burn, thus no combustion event. No combustion means no damage. If the limiter cut spark and fuel is still being injected, it could easily result in a very serious backfire, literally bad enough to blow up fully welded stainless steel mufflers.

The biggest problem with a fuel cut rev limiter is hitting the rev limiter while spraying a wet shot of nitrous. In that case, there is still fuel being introduced by the nitrous nozzle and that fuel can cause engine damage from a lean condition. However, a well thought out system would have a window switch that turns off the nitrous before you find the rev limiter.

So no need to worry about fuel cut rev limiters!

What rpm do you plan to launch at? The simplest way would be to set the 2 step rpm right before the window switch, but I don't know if it would bog down with a set of soft tires and delay the nitrous. I've thought about a high rpm launch if I had n2o but I guess it would have to be engaged through the clutch switch when the 2 step shuts off at launch

Right now I leave at 4k, but the throttle is nowhere near the WOT switch for the nitrous. With a 2 step, I could hold the pedal 1/4" or so off the floor and then when the clutch is let out the nitrous would hit a split second later. As is, I am 10-20 feet out before the nitrous actually engages after the slight bog from the tires hooking hard.

just finished the install and test drive.

all i can say is i cant wait to get to the track!!!! there is ZERO bogging between shifts. i can keep the gas floored and the pumps dont shut down at all! the 2 step is a cool feature but it kinda scares me a little. mine is set for testing at 3600 right now. it will make 6 psi on the 2 step as it sits now.
i still cant get over how much of a difference it has made in the shifting. the car pulls like crazy and just doesnt let up!
i'll get a video of the 2 step tonight and post it up for everyone to see.

IF YOU ARE HAVING ANY BOGGING ISSUES BETWEEN SHIFTS THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED!!!!!!!!!

I'm surprised you are experiencing that much lag between shifts with a blower. I thought it was more of a problem for turbos because when you let off the gas, the turbo slows down soon as you close the throttle, while the blower would keep spinning, right? Well, sounds like it helped anyway.

I certainly look forward to seeing a video. If you can shoot the speedo, that'd be even better.

it wasnt the blower causing the lag. the crappy returnless fuel system would shut the pumps off when i lifted off the gas during a shift. the fuel pumps are running wide open and then i got off the gas, causing the pressure to spike, and causing the pumps to shut off and then try to kick back on as soon as i got back into the gas.

check out this video from my first passes with the new engine. the first run it bogged off the line b/c i didnt rev it high enough. second pass was a little better but not by much. you can see the front end fall between every shift
