Well one of the main reason I could not figure out were the pilot bearing goes was because i never had one in there. Im guessing when they put in the block they never put in a new pilot bearing. could this be why the tranny went out fairly quick???

And which direction do i put the new pilot bearing in. In the how-tos it says to install it the way it came out but since i didn't have one in there i dont know...

Wow, um... yeah that would definitely be a reason your trans went bad so quickly. Did you notice any vibration at all? I'd think the input shaft being unsupported would shake around like hell. The only pic I could find is the one below, but it should be installed with the side you see in the pic facing outward.

Wow man, thats retarded on their part. They better be covering the cost of the tranny if its their fault! There's no way any tranny would have lasted long without a pilot bushing/bearing, even if you took it easy on the throttle.

Are you aware there were pilot bushings way before
the bearing came to be an option.

Might wanna look again and see if you
just might have a bushing

The bearing has 2 depressions on the inside rim, so that when you attach a puller to bearing, the puller will grap the depressions. The depressions need to be on the inside.

This car has lead Guero to drink a fifth of Mezcal a day. Since he's always tanked now, he's pretty chilled out. J/K Guero.

Actually Scott, I think that was intentional. Who do you think brings him his Mezcal? I do keep stocking him.
