Picked up my GT Tuesday (10/11/2005) night. 300 miles on it already! I'd rather be driving it right now!!

But what is this stuff??!!:

Attachment 1 - IMG_2335_web:
This is the passenger side kick panel by the interior fuses: The white is a piece of foam. It's apparently in the wrong place... but does it belong anywhere up front? In the pic the bottom of the foam square has a small notch in it. that notch is taped to the top of the box behind it.

Attachment 2 - IMG_2344_web:
This is in the engine bay, drivers side rear, just by the brake booster/master cylinder. Each line has a small plastic ring on it. Not attached to anything, just loosely sitting around those pipes.

Also:
The small trim 'panel' around the driver's side lock post was missing on delivery day... the dealer 'borrowed' one from another on the lot when I picked it up, but why would that part be missing?

None of these items present me with any functional issues, just curiosity warrants my inquiry. Thanks.

I don't know about pic #1, but the rings in pic #2 are leftovers from the assembly process - we all have them and I'm sure there are other such items here & there in the car. Probably used to hang the tubes/hoses during assembly.

So nice of your dealer to 'borrow' a part from another car, huh? It makes me wonder what else he might have done, even to your car, with ethics such as those.

I've got the foam thing too. Couldn't figure it out. I figured if it wasn't doing any harm put in there like that, it must not be that important, so I tore it out.

they need to be borrowed, b/c ppl these days will go test drive a car, ****** the interior part they need, and pretend to be interested, then go "nah". Thats why the parts r missing from dealer cars.
