On the road here in England since December 1st - just over 8,000 miles so far! Only a couple of others at or near the Air Force bases, but did see two in London at the Ace Cafe last month. Was able to get pics with the Sally B - the only B-17 Flying Fortress that still flies here in England (one of only 12 world wide), and since the Mustang was named after the P-51, the famous fighter escort for the Flying Fortresses in World War 2, I thought the pics were appropriate.

Now Thats Cool!! Must be weird livin over there with those Brits!!
I love WW2 stuff and Britain is loaded with W2 history. I went to the War museum and Winston Churchills Bunker. Love to go back!!

Unique and then some - it is so much fun just driving through towns and villages and seeing the reactions. I know black is the most popular color, but my Torch Red is an attention getter, especially since I drive with the fogs on. Not exactly legal here, but hey - I'm real convincing at pleading ignorant! One of the best things is that you can drive forever and never see a traffic cop - which means that I can open it up just about whenever I feel like it - roads and weather permitting, of course. I often have people come up to me when I park and ask about it, just wanting to get a close look, etc. Lucky I'm not the shy type! I've already talked to the salesman on Lakenheath Air Base about getting me the Corba next year - now that will really be something! Best thing is that 'Stangs sell for twice the American price (my price), so next year I will sell my 05 GT for at least what I paid for it, probably more, even after adding in the British tax at the time and just about pay cash for the Shelby. Yep - sometimes it just works out!

The one thing I miss about the UK is decent highspeed challenging roads with bends in them, and where a race is not a simple 40-120 mph then slow down affair it seems to be over here, but a point A-B dash where driver ability counts for a lot, screeching round bends, the works.

Watch out for those speed cameras though....everytime I go back and visit I'm horrified by the amount that have sprung up on all my favourite country roads we used to let rip on in my younger years....

Yep, those cameras are bad - I got flashed once so far. The good thing is that the law requires them to put warning signs up ahead of time, at least a quarter mile, and the cameras have to be in plain view and painted bright orange or yellow. Can you imagine them doing that in the U.S.? They do have a few mobile ones but not many - so far. And the cameras have practically replaced patrol cars. There are virtually no traffic cops - different enforcement philosophy here. Lucky for me!
