New here, I have always wanted a fox body and may be close in purchasing one. I'm currently looking at a 91 lx roller. Question I have for you guys is I have never placed a motor and transmission into a car before, am I biting off more them I can chew here? I have friends that work on cars and can lend a hand from time to time. I am also pretty handy and figure things as I go and for some reason have always wanted to build a car. Just wondering I it's worth it to go this route or should I get a complete running fox?

Thanks, I'm looking forward to getting into a fox soon be it a project or complete.

They make new pistons every day, so why worry?

Welcome to

Building a car can be a very rewarding process and with basic tools and some patience, it is very doable. You best bet will be checking in with the crew over in the Fox section as they will have a wealth of knowledge that can help push you in the right direction.

Dropping in an engine isn't that difficult. If this is your first venture, I'd just check to be sure you are dropping in a replacement engine, not doing a 4 cylinder to v8 conversion which is a bit more entailed

Thanks guys.

Its an original v8 5 speed. I will be looking at it tonight. As long as the pillars aren't warped, torque box isn't trashed and the strut towers aren't rusted out I think I will be pulling the trigger.
